Dear Singers and Singing Families,

We are excited to announce plans for our Mid-Year Singing Soirée!

This year, we are trialling a fun new concert concept — small group performances: duets and trios!

This format offers singers the opportunity to explore harmonies, musical interaction, and storytelling alongside one or two other performers. While many singers spend much of their training in solo work, collaborative singing is both an important skill and a wonderfully fun experience to develop. The concert is completely OPTIONAL and all songs and challenges will be tailored to suit each singer’s level and needs. This is simply intended to be a fun, supportive, and valuable musical experience.

For singers who are just beginning their singing journey, feel free to speak with your teacher about whether this performance opportunity feels right for you, or whether you may prefer to wait until Soirée No. 2 in November. We want every singer to feel ready, supported, and excited.

This concert will be accompanied by backing tracks to ensure singers feel supported and confident with music they know well.

We do ask that singers who commit to performing make their best effort to participate, as fellow singers will be preparing alongside them as part of a team.

Our End-of-Year Concert in November will remain our usual solo concert, accompanied by piano.

The Plan:

1. Singers SOIRÉE RSVP by: Thursday 21st May  - YES/NO HERE
2. Teachers will assign and provide songs.
3. Where possible, teachers will aim to pair singers close to one another’s lesson times to minimise the need for additional rehearsals.
4. If you are unsure about participating — whether due to availability, confidence, or being new to singing — please feel free to speak with either myself, or your teacher via email, the form, or in your lesson. 

Important Dates:

Register to perform by:  Thursday 21st May 
Performance Date:  Sunday 26th July (All concerts held in studio)

At this stage, we are unsure whether the event will run as one concert or two shorter concerts across the afternoon. Until final numbers are confirmed, please keep 1:00pm–6:30pm available. Final performance times will be confirmed as soon as all students have replied.

Performance Fee:

$12  (A separate audience ticketing link will be provided closer to the event.)
