Child Safe Policy
Child Safety & Wellbeing
Lisa-Marie Parker Vocal Studio is committed to providing a safe, inclusive and supportive creative environment for everyone in our community.
As a studio that works with people of all ages, we recognise our particular responsibility to ensure the safety, wellbeing and empowerment of children and young people. We are dedicated to creating a space where every individual feels respected, encouraged and able to explore their creative potential free from bullying, discrimination or harassment.
We support and respect all members of our community and want every student to feel safe, confident and empowered in their creative journey.
Our Commitment to Child Safety
Child safety is embedded in our studio culture. We have zero tolerance for child abuse, and all concerns and allegations are taken seriously and managed in line with our policies, procedures and legal obligations.
We are committed to the emotional, physical and cultural safety of children and young people. This includes a strong focus on:
the cultural safety of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children
children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
children and young people with disability
We actively listen to and empower young people, and we value their voices in shaping a safe and positive studio environment.
Our Team
All staff, teachers and volunteers who work with children at Lisa-Marie Parker Vocal Studio:
hold a current Working With Children Check (WWCC)
are required to maintain this as a condition of their engagement
are carefully recruited, with reference checks and screening processes in place
receive training and guidance in child safety and best practice
All team members are required to follow our Child Safety Code of Conduct, which outlines appropriate standards of behaviour when working with children and young people.
A Safe Studio Environment
We are committed to maintaining a safe and respectful environment across all areas of our studio. This includes:
active supervision of children and young people
clear boundaries around appropriate behaviour and communication
communication between staff, students and families is conducted through approved studio channels rather than personal social media, phone numbers or private email accounts
limited direct communication with students outside of class; where appropriate, teachers may email learning materials (such as sheet music) directly to students aged 16 and over
ongoing risk assessment of both physical and online environments
Everyone involved in our studio shares responsibility for maintaining a safe, inclusive and respectful space.
Raising a Concern
We encourage all students, families and members of our community to speak up if they have any concerns about safety or wellbeing.
Concerns can be raised by speaking with the Studio Director or a trusted staff member, or by contacting us:

All concerns are handled respectfully, confidentially and in accordance with our reporting obligations. Where required, we will report matters to the appropriate authorities, including Victoria Police and relevant government departments.
Our Responsibilities
Lisa-Marie Parker Vocal Studio takes its legal responsibilities seriously, including obligations under Victorian child safety laws relating to reporting and protecting children from harm.
All staff and adults in our community share responsibility for reporting any reasonable belief that a child may be at risk.
Policy Scope
This commitment applies to all staff, contractors, volunteers, students, parents, guardians and members of the Lisa-Marie Parker Vocal Studio community.
